Civil Service Commission

Macedonia’s Civil Service Commission and Civil Service System were established in 1971. The Commission’s role is to provide rules and regulations for all appointments, promotions, demotions, suspensions, discharges, and appeals with respect to those positions and employees in the classified service. All members of the police and fire departments, including the Chief of Police and the Fire Chief are in the classified service.

Macedonia’s Civil Service Commission meets in January of each year for its annual meeting. Thereafter, the Commission meets only as needed.

The Commission consists of five members, all of whom are residents of Macedonia. Each member serves a six-year term. The Commission’s current members are Chuck Kozelka, Mike Hawkins, chairman; and Mike Menhart, Kurt Laubinger, vice-chairman; and Dennis Mulac.
