Law Department

The Department of Law serves the Mayor, the Council, the Administrative Departments and the officers, boards and commissions of the municipality as legal counsel in connection with municipal affairs, and the prosecution of all criminals. Your Law Director drafts all the legislation and researches the law in order to give proper legal advice and direction to City officials. The Law Director is charged with representing the City and its taxpayers against all those persons who would violate City or State laws, or who decide to sue the City.
