A big day for three Macedonia firefighters. At a swearing-in ceremony Tuesday afternoon, two part-time firefighters, Alex Alders and Sullivan Staub, were promoted to full-time fire-medics, and fire-medic Dennis Basch was promoted to lieutenant.
Lt. Basch has been with the Macedonia Fire Department for five years. He is also the assistant director of the Summit County Hazardous Materials Response Team.
Fire-medic Alex Alders, a Nordonia grad, decided to make a career change when he joined the Macedonia Fire Department. He was a part-time firefighter for one year before joining full time. For fire-medic Sullivan Staub, firefighting runs in the family, as his mom is chief of the Woodmere Fire Department. He was a part-timer for two and a half years before moving to full time.
Congratulations to all three on their accomplishments!
