This year has been difficult for all of us as we work to stop the surge of COVID-19 cases. As we enter our 20th year of Summit County Community Appreciation Days, we look forward to welcoming community members back after our 3-month closure. With our reopening in mid-June, things look a little different to help keep everyone healthy and safe during this unprecedented time.
In order to be compliant with all Summit County and State of Ohio health orders, we have enacted timed ticketing for all guests. All tickets for Summit County Community Appreciation Days this year will be available online two weeks at a time for select dates. Community Days will run August 15 through October 9, with each community having specific dates. We have extended the dates of Summit County Community Appreciation Days this year to ensure all community members, Akron Zoo members, and general admission guests have a chance to reserve their tickets as there are only 200 tickets available every half hour. The amount of tickets available is subject to change based on any new orders from Summit County or State of Ohio health agencies.
During Summit County Community Appreciation Days at the Akron Zoo, Macedonia residents will enjoy free admission to the zoo 1pm to close daily starting September 12 through September 25. Tickets will be available online at https://www.akronzoo.org/2020-visitor-guidelines starting August 29. Residents must log-in or create an account on our website in order to receive their tickets for free. They also must select the date and time slot they want to arrive and should read all visitor guidelines before reserving their free tickets (visitor guidelines as of June 2020 are also attached). Their reserved tickets will be emailed to them and will only be valid for the date and time they have selected and cannot be exchanged. The ticket limit is still 4 per household. Parking is not included and is $3 per car.
We are in the process of creating a social media graphic you can use to help promote the event and will provide that to you closer to your community’s dates. If you have any questions regarding Community Days, please contact Tina Edwards, Administrative Assistant, at 330.375.2550 ext. 7249 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Visit www.akronzoo.org for general zoo information.
Thank you for your past and continued support! The Akron Zoo is proud to be an economic driver in Summit County, provide valuable science education programming, annual family-friendly events, and more than 1,000 animals to the communities of Summit County. You’ve Never Been This Close!!
