Leading the Way in Public Safety Innovation in Northeast Ohio

The Macedonia Safety Forces Drone Team is proud to be a regional leader in integrating cutting-edge drone technology into public safety operations. As the only joint police and fire drone team in Northeast Ohio, our team exemplifies interagency cooperation, supporting not only the City of Macedonia but also the communities of Northfield Center and Sagamore Hills, and working closely with the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

Comprised of nine highly trained drone pilots, the team plays a vital role in a wide range of emergency responses. Whether it's locating missing senior adults, tracking juvenile walkaways, assisting with the execution of search warrant services, or using thermal imaging to find suspects at night, drones have become an indispensable tool for faster, safer, and more effective public safety operations.

The Macedonia Safety Forces Drone Team is also a key member of the Northeast Ohio Public Safety Unmanned Response Team (NEO PSURT) and contributes actively to Summit County’s newly formed regional drone team, with Assistant Fire Chief Paul Celinski serving as one of its three coordinators.

By covering far more ground than traditional foot searches, drones significantly improve response times and maximize situational awareness for officers and first responders on the ground. Our team conducts monthly training and joins the regional team several times a year for joint exercises, ensuring we remain mission-ready for all scenarios.

From tactical operations to life-saving missions, the Macedonia Safety Forces Drone Team is committed to harnessing technology to keep Northeast Ohio safe.
