The Macedonia Police Department was established in 1905. In 1927, the first full time Marshall, Floyd McRitchie used his own vehicle, an Essex Super Six Speedster.

The City now has 10 fully equipped cruisers and 23 sworn officers. The Police Department shares the City Center with the city Administration offices on Valley View Road.

The Department has a well trained Detective Bureau.

Newly acquired police car adds to the City’s police fleet.

In Memorium
Our Brother, Gary Paster, gave his life in the line of duty during the early morning hours of May 15th, 1986. While en route to aid a Sagamore Hills Township unit with a call of an open door (a possible B & E) at a business in their town, there was a horrific crash at the intersection of State Routes 8 and 82. Gary subsequently died from his injuries on May 29, 1986. Gary was a good Policeman and a good friend. We will never forget him.
