MACEDONIA PLANNING COMMISSION
MARCH 18, 2019
CALL TO ORDER:
Mr. Westbrooks called the meeting to order at approximately 5:30 pm.
Planning Commission Members present: Mr. Velotta, Mr. Finley, and Mr. Westbrooks. Mr. Schiavone and Mr. Cox were absent.
Building Commissioner: Nino Monaco, City Planner: Brian Frantz.
APPROVAL OF THE FEBRUARY 11, 2019 MEETING MINUTES
Postponed until the April meeting.
PROPOSED SIGNAGE FOR SPECTRUM RETAIL STORE LOCATED AT 8210 MACEDONIA COMMONS BLVD.
Mr. Lou Bleknap was present and gave his proposal. Mr. Frantz made his comments. There was much discussion of the color of the raceway and the letters. Mr. Velotta motioned to approve as submitted with the letters to start at 15’ from the base, raceway to match building, and blue lettering acceptable. Mr. Finley seconded and Mr. Westbrooks agreed.
PROPOSED SIGNAGE FOR EUROPEAN WAX CENTER LOCATED AT 8210 MACEDONIA COMMONS BLVD.
PROPOSED SIGNAGE FOR REVIVAL HOUSE LOCATED AT 7772 CAPITAL BLVD.
Mr. Velotta motioned to approve as submitted, Mr. Finley seconded and Mr. Westbrooks agreed.
PROPOSED SHED FOR KFC LOCATED AT 307 HIGHLAND RD.
Mr. Alessio DiFranco was present and gave his proposal. Mr. Frantz made his comments. There was discussion of the height and the materials of the shed. Mr. Frantz encouraged the applicant to submit a landscaping plan. Mr. Monaco requested that a new drawing with the correct dimensions on it be submitted to the Building Dept. Mr. Velotta motioned to approve with administrative review of the brick veneer, landscaping plan submitted, and the intent to keep height of the building to be below the wall. Mr. Finley seconded and Mr. Westbrooks agreed.
PROPOSED PRELIMINARY PLANS FOR A DRIVE THRU AT PANERA BREAD RESTAURANT LOCATED AT 8233 GOLDEN LINK BLVD.
Mr. Kim Phillips was present and made his proposal, Mr. Frantz made his comments. There was much discussion on the curb cuts and the stacking of the cars in the line. Mr. Phillips commented that there would be no pull ahead parking and that crash protection will be provided. Mr. Frantz requested a detailed landscaping plan be submitted to the Building Dept. Velotta motioned to approve the preliminary plans for the drive thru without a curb cut onto Golden Link Blvd. Mr. Finley seconded and Mr. Westbrooks agreed.
Mr. Velotta motioned to adjourn at approximately 6:50 p.m.
